Credit Controller - Durrington - Worthing - Sussex

Job Summary: In this role you will be responsible for managing and maintaining cash flow through a profile of key accounts. This will include the management of outstanding debts on the account as well as ensuring payments are received and allocated to reach monthly cash collection targets.
Main Duties and responsibilities
1. Send monthly statements either manually or electronically to the accounts
2. Review and chase unpaid debts on the account through monitoring and liaison with the major accounts team to ensure smooth cash flow
3. Manage and maintain customer claim spreadsheets whilst ensuring that the information is in a format that is acceptable for the customer in order to assist with the reconciliation of claims.
4. Send copy invoices, credit and proof of deliveries as and when required
5. Maintain frequent contact with the customers to ensure you are aware of any significant future deductions and take a proactive approach to forthcoming high value items due for payment.
6. Arranging couriers to collect and bank monthly cheques
7. Call customers prior to payment date to obtain an indication of level of payment being made
8. Ensure remittance advice is received in time to allocate for month end cut-off
9. Allocate the payment on the account using the companies in-house credit management system all the time maintaining a full audit trail of the transactions.
10. Attend meetings with credit control management to discuss the status of the account and any issues that may have arisen
11. Provide regular updates to credit control management of the status and issues on the accounts

1 The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible attitude to take account of the changing needs of the business.

4 All staff with a requirement to lift and handle objects should receive basic in-house instruction in safe working practices.
5 The post holder will be required to attend Fire lectures annually.
